The image is stored locally on your website, so the author does not need a Gravatar account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide explains how to upload a custom avatar for a registered WordPress User.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before you begin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure <strong>Local Author Avatars<\/strong> are enabled in Molongui Authorship settings. If local avatars are disabled globally, uploaded local profile pictures will not be used on the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upload a custom avatar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>WordPress Dashboard > Users > All Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the user whose avatar you want to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <strong>Author Profile<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the <strong>Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the right-hand sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Upload Picture<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select an existing image from the WordPress Media Library or upload a new one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Use this picture<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong> to save the author profile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens after uploading the image?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The uploaded image becomes the author&#8217;s <strong>Local Avatar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Local Author Avatars are enabled, the local picture normally has priority over the other available avatar sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the standard avatar settings enabled, the usual priority is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Local Avatar \u2192 Gravatar \u2192 Custom Default Avatar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that once a Local Avatar is configured, Molongui Authorship will normally display it instead of the author&#8217;s Gravatar or a default avatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change or remove the picture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage an existing Local Avatar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Edit the WordPress User.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <strong>Author Profile<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the <strong>Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the available controls to change or remove the current picture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong> to save the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if you remove the Local Avatar?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Molongui Authorship automatically moves to the next available avatar source according to your global Author Avatar settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if Gravatar is enabled, the author&#8217;s Gravatar may be displayed.
