The image is stored locally on your website and does not require a Gravatar account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide explains how to upload a Local Avatar for an existing Guest Author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before you begin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure <strong>Local Author Avatars<\/strong> are enabled in Molongui Authorship settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must also have permission to upload files to the WordPress Media Library. If you do not, the Profile Picture panel will be read-only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upload a custom avatar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Guest Authors<\/strong> in your WordPress Dashboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the Guest Author whose picture you want to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Author Profile<\/strong> tab will be selected automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the <strong>Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the right-hand sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Upload Picture<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select an existing image from the WordPress Media Library or upload a new one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Use this picture<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong> in the <strong>Save<\/strong> panel to save the Guest Author.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The location of the Guest Authors menu can be customized in Molongui Authorship, so it may appear under a different WordPress Dashboard menu on your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens after uploading the image?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The uploaded picture becomes the Guest Author&#8217;s <strong>Local Avatar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Local Author Avatars are enabled, it normally takes priority over Gravatar and default avatars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With all standard avatar sources enabled, the usual priority is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Local Avatar \u2192 Gravatar \u2192 Custom Default Avatar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change or remove the picture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage an existing Local Avatar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Edit the Guest Author.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the <strong>Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Change Picture<\/strong> to select another image, or <strong>Remove<\/strong> to remove the Local Avatar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong> to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if you remove the Local Avatar?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Molongui Authorship automatically uses the next available avatar source according to your global Author Avatar settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if the Guest Author has an email address and Gravatar is enabled, their Gravatar may be displayed. If no Gravatar is available and a Custom Default Avatar is configured, the Custom Default Avatar can be displayed instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Guest Author has no email address, Gravatar is skipped automatically.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guest Authors can have their own custom profile picture just like registered WordPress Users.
