Molongui Authorship can be configured to use only locally uploaded author avatars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This setup is useful if you want full control over author profile pictures and do not want your site to use Gravatar or any default avatar service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configure Molongui Authorship to use only Local Avatars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to Authors > Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Open the General<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Find the Author Avatar Settings<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Enable Use local author avatars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Disable Use Gravatar for author avatars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Disable Use a custom default avatar<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Save the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    What happens with this setup?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Molongui Authorship will only use an author’s Local Avatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The avatar resolution becomes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Local Avatar \u2192 No Avatar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If an author has a Local Avatar, it will be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If the author does not have a Local Avatar, no avatar will be shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Will Gravatar still be used?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    No. With Use Gravatar for author avatars<\/strong> disabled, Molongui Authorship does not use Gravatar as an avatar source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This also means that the WordPress Default Avatar is not used as part of the Gravatar fallback flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What about the Custom Default Avatar?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    It will not be used while Use a custom default avatar<\/strong> is disabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you want authors without a Local Avatar to display a branded fallback image, enable the Custom Default Avatar instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Make sure every author has a Local Avatar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    With this configuration, authors without a locally uploaded profile picture will have no avatar displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To avoid that, make sure each author has a Local Avatar configured in their profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For WordPress Users, edit the user and use the Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the Author Profile<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For Guest Authors, edit the Guest Author and use the Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the sidebar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
