Yes. You do not need a Gravatar account to use a custom avatar with Molongui Authorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can upload a Local Avatar directly to the author’s profile and store the image on your own WordPress site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use a Local Avatar instead of Gravatar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For a registered WordPress User:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to Users > All Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Edit the user.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Open the Author Profile<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Locate the Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the right-hand sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Upload or select the image you want to use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Save the user profile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    For a Guest Author:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Open the Guest Authors<\/strong> screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Edit the Guest Author.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Locate the Profile Picture<\/strong> panel in the sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Upload or select the image you want to use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Save the Guest Author.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Make sure Local Avatars are enabled<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. Go to Authors > Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Open the General<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Find the Author Avatar Settings<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Make sure Use local author avatars<\/strong> is enabled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Save the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Can I disable Gravatar completely?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        If you do not want Molongui Authorship to use Gravatar at all, disable Use Gravatar for author avatars<\/strong> under Authors > Settings > General<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        You can then use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Local Avatar \u2192 Custom Default Avatar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        if both Local Avatars and the Custom Default Avatar are enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        What happens if an author has no Local Avatar?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        If the author has no Local Avatar, Molongui Authorship moves to the next available avatar source according to your settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        If Gravatar is disabled and a Custom Default Avatar is configured, the Custom Default Avatar can be displayed instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        If no fallback is available, no avatar will be shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Do Local Avatars depend on the author’s email address?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Local Avatars are stored directly on your WordPress site and do not depend on an email address or any external avatar service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
