With Molongui Authorship, you can replace that author with another WordPress user or a Guest Author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several ways to do this, depending on whether you want to replace the existing author or keep them as a co-author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method 1: Remove the Existing Author First<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This method is useful when you want the new author to be the only person credited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the post in the Block Editor or Classic Editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the <strong>Authors<\/strong> panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the currently assigned author.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure the author list is empty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for and add the replacement author.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The replacement author automatically becomes <strong>MAIN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can then publish or update the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don&#8217;t need to click the star icon manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method 2: Add the New Author Before Removing the Old One<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This method is useful if you prefer to select the replacement before removing the original author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the post editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the <strong>Authors<\/strong> panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the new author. The original author remains Main.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the original Main Author.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If only the newly added author remains, Molongui automatically makes them Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initial authors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>John \u2014 MAIN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After adding Sarah:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>John \u2014 MAIN<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sarah \u2014 Co-author<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After removing John:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sarah \u2014 MAIN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Both methods produce the same result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method 3: Keep Both Authors but Change Who Is Main<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to keep the original author as a co-author:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add the new author.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the empty star icon next to the new author&#8217;s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm that the MAIN label moves to that author.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save or update the post.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The previous Main Author remains assigned as a co-author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What If the Post Has Several Co-authors?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you remove the Main Author and two or more authors remain, Molongui will not select a replacement automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must click the star icon next to the person who should receive primary credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ensures that the correct contributor is designated as Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing Authors with Quick Edit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also replace authors without opening the full post editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Posts > All Posts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hover over the post and click <strong>Quick Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the Molongui author selector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove and add authors as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify that the correct person has the MAIN label.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The same automatic Main Author assignment rules apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing Authors with Bulk Edit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bulk Edit lets you apply a new author selection to several posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Posts > All Posts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the posts you want to modify.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose <strong>Edit<\/strong> from the Bulk Actions dropdown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Apply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the Molongui Authors field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the author or authors you want to assign.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm which author is marked MAIN.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply the bulk update.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> The Bulk Edit author selector starts empty because an empty selection means <em>No Change<\/em>. It does not mean that the selected posts have no authors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you add an author, that author automatically becomes Main for the new selection. Review your selection carefully, since the update can affect multiple posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What If the MAIN Label Is Missing?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the author list contains authors but none is marked Main, click the star next to the correct author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not assume that the first name in the list is automatically Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molongui requires an explicit selection when existing authorship is unresolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can replace a post&#8217;s Main Author by removing the old author first, adding the replacement first, or manually choosing a new Main with the star icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molongui automatically selects Main when there is only one unambiguous choice.
