Yes. Guest Authors can have their own avatar just like registered WordPress Users.
Molongui Authorship supports Local Avatars, Gravatar, and fallback avatars for Guest Authors.
Upload a Local Avatar for a Guest Author
- Open the Guest Authors screen.
- Edit the Guest Author.
- Locate the Profile Picture panel in the right-hand sidebar.
- Upload a new image or select one from the WordPress Media Library.
- Save the Guest Author.
The uploaded image becomes the Guest Author’s Local Avatar.
Make sure Local Avatars are enabled
- Go to Authors > Settings.
- Open the General tab.
- Find the Author Avatar Settings section.
- Make sure Use local author avatars is enabled.
- Save the settings.
Can Guest Authors use Gravatar?
Yes.
If the Guest Author has a valid email address and Gravatar is enabled, Molongui Authorship can use the Gravatar associated with that email address.
With the standard avatar configuration, the usual priority is:
Local Avatar → Gravatar → Custom Default Avatar
What if the Guest Author has no email address?
If there is no valid email address, Gravatar is skipped automatically.
For example, with Local Avatars and the Custom Default Avatar enabled:
Local Avatar → Custom Default Avatar
What if the Guest Author has no avatar at all?
If the Guest Author has no Local Avatar and no available Gravatar, Molongui Authorship uses the next enabled fallback.
If a Custom Default Avatar is configured, that image can be displayed.
If no fallback is available, no avatar will be shown.
Can I change or remove the Guest Author avatar later?
Yes.
Edit the Guest Author, return to the Profile Picture panel, and use the available controls to change or remove the Local Avatar.
After removing it, Molongui Authorship automatically moves to the next available avatar source according to your settings.
